Tender for production and delivery first components of Local Cryogenics System of Super-FRS

As Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, we are starting a new tender for production and delivery first components of Local Cryogenics System of Super-FRS. Please find below short description of the project.

Currently, a complex of FAIR accelerators (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) is being built in Darmstadt, Germany, whose aim is to produce antiproton and ion beams of extremely high intensity and quality. Such beams will be used for research covering many fields of physics, including: physics of structure and nuclear astrophysics, hadronic physics with antiprotons bundles, hadronic matter of very high density or plasma physics at very high pressures and high temperatures.

The FAIR Accelerator Complex is being built by the international organization FAIR GmbH, whose Polish shareholder is the Jagiellonian University. One of the tasks carried out as part of the Polish contribution of In-Kind to the construction of FAIR is the delivery and installation of the Local Cryogenic System for Super-FRS (Super-FRS Local Cryo). This task is coordinated by the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland.

FAIR Super-FRS Local Cryogenics System is dedicated to distribute cooling power to 63 superconducting magnet cryostats (27 Dipoles, 35 multiplets, 1 GLAD experiment Dipole). Inside the cryostats, magnets are being cooled in 4.5 K liquid helium bath and additionally screened by 50 K – 80 K gaseous helium. The Super-FRS Local Cryogenics infrastructure shall allow for the safe, stable and robust cryogenic operation of the Super-FRS magnet cryostats.

The Super-FRS Local Cryogenics infrastructure itself is organized into nine Branches and we would like to invite you to tender concerning the production and delivery Feed Boxes and End Boxes for Branches P, M, H and G.

The scope of the delivery is divided into 2 lots, each lot has main task and 3 options. What the main tasks and options consists you can find in the technical specification - "289_2023_OPZ" - section 2.2

The tender will be conducted in the one stage procedure.

The offer with the required attachments should be submitted by 20/10/2023 by 10.00 am.

The main document describing the required attachments and the most important terms of the tender and order is file 289_2023_SWZ.
